1. What are your long term objectives for this new car? 2. What is your overall budget to pay with this car? 3. Would you like to create it a regular driver? Trailer double? or road program? 4. What's you basic knowledge of vehicles and electrical systems? 5.... So you just got a V6 Mustang and you desire to allow it to be faster. Well there are a few things you'll or should be aware of before you consider this. As im sure several older males on here would right back me up on this article so here we go. 1. What're your longterm objectives for this new car? 2. What is your current budget to pay with this car? 3. Do you want to produce it an everyday driver? Truck queen? or street class? 4. What's you fundamental familiarity with cars and electrical systems? 5. Do you have enough time? Many people want the fastest car, the very best looking car or the loudest car. That's because everyone else who owns a gets the itch. And im perhaps not talking about down there, im talking about the energy itch, the speed itch, the capability to come out running and take that part at 55. With most important bolt on mods, you can do them yourself with some specialty tools and a good pair of hand tools. Some require welding, which most sites can do for an appartment rate of "X" quantity of dollars where "X" could be the constant shop rate. Today were going to enter into the particular mods. CAI- Cool Air intake. There are numerous different kind of CAI available available on the market. The fenderwell CAI spots the air filter in the fenderwell to obtain cool air because it rushes underneath the passenger headlight. This is a great first mod, because all you need are some hand instruments and the intructions. Plastic versus. Steel They're the 2 types of resources CAI come in. Many people just like the steel opera covered types becuase it gives a good look beneath the cover. Regrettably Metal gets hot from outside sources( ie., motor bay) and internal friction of the air passing through it. Plastic on another hand remains cool because it's not a conductor of heat. the engine bay heat or air friction will not cuase this absorption to heat up. Large Air Indicator and Housing This is the peice that is inside your inventory air box, and is, I think, one of the bottle necks on the intakes today. The Mass Air Sensor, or MAS, measures the amount of air coming in to the motor and sends that information to the ECU, where the ECU does its thing and tell Mr. Fuel Injector's just how much energy to dump in accordance to the Air Fuel combination. Lets say you've a (76.1mm) CAI and a stock MAS. Youll be attracting alot of air rapidly @ Wide open Throttle, or WOT. Lets execute a in home test, when you yourself have a cylindrical container about 6-12" long obtain it. If it is open on both ends, it was thrown by blow, and what happened? The air arrived on the scene the otherside without any problems, right? Now cover up 1/3rd of another end and try again, little tougher? Same notion in your intake. However need convincing? Perhaps you have tried to vaccum up some thing to large for the vaccum? kinda struggled didnt it? Specifically. Throttle Human anatomy This really is some of those black sheep parts where larger isnt better. 99+ Stock I do believe includes a 65mm Throttle Body, or TB from now on. If your not turbo, supered or No2'ed this mod shouldn't maintain the near future until after having a Power Adder, or PA. Headers Well, once more this is yet another mod that does not do such a thing for your car or truck unless you have significant mods and are going for a PA as time goes by, otherwise, youll acquire some hourse of "Fun" Exhaust The next mod most people is going to do or even the initial on their mustang. When concidering a fatigue you have to consider that the V6 will never appear to be a V8, its impossible until you buy 2 more cylinders. The stock V6 exhaust comes out of each exhaust manifold and "Y"'s in to on following the catalytic converters. When purchasing a kit, you can either look for one which is complete, meaning includes the Y adapter and individual side hangers for the tailpipe and muffler. Or you can piece together one for some dollars cheaper and expect everything fits. My guidance, dont go inexpensive, becuase you get what you buy. Which brings me to backpressure. When your choosing your fatigue ensure you dont review 2.5" or else youll lose backpressure. without backpressure the V6 will hate you and won't work right at all. You are able to go bigger then 2.5" if your Turboed or Supercharged, other then that I wouldnt recommend it. Exhaust Tips We could understand this one from our axis the ricers. Exhaust tips dont add HP noise is added by them, it's more of a effect when you add 3.5" tips on your own 2.5" fatigue, you think it's faster becuase the box says "adds up to 5 RWHP!!!" well it doesnt. However when you enter your car or truck appears higher then it did before, so you think its faster. Under Travel Pulleys There are a few out there some are inexpensive and some are high priced. What things to try to find when buying a set may be the harware they have, guidelines and a package deal. RPM-Outlet has 42% MotoBlue Underdrive Pulleys, or UDP to any extent further, for about $208 delivered. If you have a large stereo in your vehicle, I would say 2000-5000Watts, you actually want to be carefull of the UDP's. They will affect your cooling, asking and Air Condition, and might slow your components a certain %. They wont impact everycar, but there's a chance. Steeda and ARP have some 25% UDP which really are a little more costly and, well your spending money on the name mostly. Installation is about a 1-2 time job based on your physical stage. Hint: A lever Puller helps installation. [http://www.ilovebodykits.com/product/77467/99_02_BMW_Z3_Emblem_Package_Carbon_Fiber.html bmw emblem]
