The newly-released, fuel-efficient 2008 Isuzu Ascender was recently placed by U.S. World & news Report together of the top 25 "Midsize Affordable SUVs" in the U.S. In the 2008 GMC Envoy and terms of security features, the same rating was received by the 2008 Ascender since the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer. U.S. News & World Report noted that the 2008 Isuzu Ascender fared well in crash tests conducted by the federal government, particularly in side-impact crashes. According to the post in U.S. News, the Ascender acquired five out of five stars in government crash tests (if you had prefer to see for yourself, always check out the Ascender's site on the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration's website for the total report) for both front and rear-seat passenger safety. Certainly one of the several reasons the Isuzu Ascender received such a favorable score is that side-impact airbags now come standard in the 2008 design. The Ascender comes standard with fog lights and daytime working lights, and also includes a specialized stability control process called Stabilitrak StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control. Traction control is combined by the system with security control systems, as well as anti-lock brakes. Together, the three are created to help the driver keep online order of the vehicle. Along with its energetic safety features, passive safety features have been also upgraded by the 2008 model. The 2008 Ascender offers air bags for the driver and leading passenger, in addition to standard head-curtain side-impact air bags. These air bags were possibilities on the 2007 design. The newer Ascender also features an automatic air case elimination program built to deactivate the front-passenger airbag and reduce airbag-related accidents. The Isuzu Ascender even offers a human body design which allows for extraordinary presence from the driver's seat. Compared, U.S. News & World Report observed that, in relation to the 2008 Mazda CX-7, "test drivers have expressed concern, however, about disadvantaged front visibility because of the sharp style of the CX-7's windshield." But security is not the only real reason to have driving of an Ascender. U.S. News & World record, in the overall impression of the 2008 Isuzu Ascender, noted that the Ascender "delivers and a superb warranty and smooth ride" and also stated the SUV's superior towing capabilities. The 2WD model can pull, when correctly prepared, as much as 5,800 pounds. Generally, writers were impressed with the Ascender's V6 engine power and what sort of SUV handles. Kelley Blue Book mentioned that "the Ascender feels controlled and agile." Still another writer from Auto Media noticed that the Ascender goes "smoothly and quietly" and "accelerates strongly from a standstill." In accordance with an evaluation in the Orlando Sentinel, the Ascender beats the Ford Explorer when off-roading. Comparing the 2, the reviewer praised, " the strong rear axle of the Ascender is just a better design, providing the Isuzu more speed in serious off-road traction situations." U.S. Information also noted that the 2008 Ford Explorer's "heavy steering detracts from overall performance." Intellichoice has not yet scored the 2008 Isuzu Ascender, but did recognize Isuzu's complete 2006 line up as best within their class for low costs.
